Why Therapy?
I’ve thought about this a lot over my career, and the most honest answer I can share with you is this: We all deeply crave a world in which we feel authentically known, genuinely cared for and truly loved. Throughout our lives, we’ve all formed defensive, unhelpful, or protective patterns that keep us feeling stuck, ashamed, unloveable, unknowable or deeply flawed. Therapy helps give language, meaning, and understanding to those wounds. Gaining insight but more importantly, resolve and emotional attunement creates space for us to be able to process those wounds, and leads us to begin to trust ourselves more. That trust leads us to risk connecting more vulnerably and more often. With enough practice, this can transform our ability to share, connect, grow, and love. We all want to love and be loved. We just need a space where we are able to mess up safely, practice, grow, and transform. Therapy is the space where it all starts.
How I Work
My goal in working together is to help you to feel your feet on the ground, connect with your heart, and to speak from a place of sincerity and authenticity. The way I work is genuine, attachment focused and rooted in holistic care. I often find myself working with folks who have experienced trauma, abuse, or complicated relationships. Many of my clients are also navigating depression or anxiety, as well eating disorders and/or substance use. I work with clients experiencing a mix of things, but what usually ties them together is their ability to be incredibly self aware but never actually feel genuinely connected or deeply known.
The truth of the matter is, we are all complex people who are all made up of millions of parts. Some beautiful, some weird, some deeply anxious and some tumultuous and defensive. My hope in our work together is to meet those parts, create some space to really get to know them, and give them some permission to get messy so that ultimately, they can heal.
If we can compassionately identify and understand those parts of you, we can better understand and soothe the unhelpful or defensive patterns that are keeping you feeling stuck, unsafe, or isolated. We will be able to use that awareness to help find new, and often clearer ways, of communicating your wants, needs, and unresolved pain.

Training, Orientation, Style, & Lens
I am trained in Internal Family Studies, AEDP, Relational and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The way I practice is influenced by Harm Reduction, Parts Work, Somatic connection, Polyvagal Theory and the healing relationships I’ve been lucky enough to participate in. I also care deeply about bringing art, creativity, and humor into the space we share.
A fundamental value of mine is bringing attention and affirmation to the complexities of people's life experiences, recognizing the way trauma and relationships can mold, connect, and isolate them, and the necessity of healing the ruptures that keep people feeling isolated and unlovable. Because of this, my work is firmly rooted in anti-racism and anti-oppression. I am LGBTQIA+, Poly/Non-traditional Relationship, and Sex Worker allied. Social work stems from valuing and recognizing the importance of respecting as well as advocating for the rights of oppressed and marginalized communities. That is a value I hold firmly.
